Video Tribute To “Wild” Bill Slater From Sid’s View Crew

The Waterford Speedbowl was one of the many tracks in the Northeast that “Wild” Bill Slater dominated on during his 20-year driving career.

Slater, a native of Norwich, passed away Sunday at 83 years old.

The Northeast racing legend won Modified division championships at Waterford in 1956 and 1959.

His 40 career victories at the track in Modifieds ranks 18th all-time in wins overall at the shoreline oval in the track’s history.

Below is a segment from the Sid’s Vault documentary project on the Waterford Speedbowl focusing on Slater.
