North-South Shootout Preparations Continuing At Caraway Speedway

The management team at Caraway Speedway in Sophia, N.C. is in full preparation mode readying for the Colors Edge John Blewett III North-South Shootout.

The tenth edition of the North-South Shootout is set to take place Nov. 8-10 at the historic half-mile oval.

The North-South Shootout moved to Caraway after eight years at Concord (N.C.) Speedway.

“Last year was our first year with the North-South Shootout, and it all came together very quickly,” track operator Renee Hackett said in a release. “Now that we’ve had a chance to plan for it for an entire year, we’re really excited to have the best short-track drivers in the country heading to Caraway to put an exclamation point on the 2012 season.”

In addition to hosting a Tour Type Modified and SK Modified event, the North-South Shootout will also host the Super Late Models of the Pro All Stars Series for a 150-lap event.

Practice and qualifying will be Nov. 9, with consolation rounds and feature events slated for Nov. 10.

A total of seven features will make up the Nov. 10 card at the track with Legends, SK Light Modified, Sportsman and Super Truck division also slated to hit the track.

“This is the most ambitious schedule we’ve had yet for the North-South Shootout at Caraway Speedway,” Hackett said. “It’s going to be a great day for all the racers, teams and fans involved.”

On Wednesday Hackett announced some of the staff that will oversee the event.
