Questions Slowly Being Answered About Thompson International Speedway Schedule For 2013

The management at Thompson International Speedway isn’t talking when it comes revealing what will be of racing at the facility in 2013, though some answers can be found.

Thompson Speedway officials said last week that they expect to announce plans for the track’s 2013 scheduled in the coming weeks.

In October track owner Don Hoenig said he wasn’t sure what the weekly racing schedule at the track could look like. Everything has been a little foggy surrounding what might become of oval track racing at the track and what the future holds for the possibility of the creation of a road course at the facility.

This weekend the Valenti Modified Racing Series announced its 2013 schedule and on it were commitments to race three events at Thompson next year.

The events included two Sunday races, on May 19 and July 28, and an Oct. 19 event, expected to be part of the Saturday card of World Series weekend at the track.

Other than that, no other oval track events have been made official by track management.

pretty much says right there, VMS on Sunday, no way they run alone on a Sunday so no weekly racing….. unless they decide to go back to Sunday racing.

  2. Rich Wisniewski says

They have to move to Sunday after last season. Myself, I would be more likely to attend more races on Sunday then trying to rush to get up there after work on Thursday.

  3. I thought they promised answers by December 1st?

  4. Shawn Courchesne says

I wouldn't read into Sunday for those two events too much. Thompson ran a VMRS race on the last Sunday in July in 2012.

  5. but wasnt that a rain date?
