Thirty Two Signs Honey Badger Of The Week Award: Joey Logano and Denny Hamlin

And then there were two.

What was it about the chocolate falling in the peanut butter? Two great tastes that go great together?

That’s the case this week when it comes to the Honey Badger.

Thanks to Randall and his glorious YouTube classic, we all know this, “Honey Badger don’t care.”

According to Randall: “The honey badger has been referred to by the Guinness Book of World Records as the most fearless animal in all of the animal kingdom.”

So we know the Honey Badger: “Just takes what he wants. He has no regard for any other animal whatsoever.”

Therein lies the gist of the Honey Badger of the Week Award.

And this week the Honey Badger will be shared by former teammates who have shown a habit this season of publicly showing their disdain for one another.

Logano is in his first season with Penkse Racing after losing his ride at Joe Gibbs Racing, where he was Hamlin’s teammate. Logano looked to be in a ready position to contend for a win last Sunday at Bristol Motor Speedway before a little mano v. mano battle with Hamlin left him spinning.

After the race Logano approached Hamlin’s car and just about stuck a head into the ride before Hamlin’s crew unkindly swatted him away from the premises.

After the skirmish Logano called Hamlin the worst teammate he ever had and vowed that he had a scorecard.

Hamlin won the war of words on the day though when asked what Logano told him in his car. “He said he was coming for me,” Hamlin said. “I usually don’t see him, so it’s usually not a factor.”

Then the feud transitioned to Twitter with this exchange.

Hamlin initially responded to Logano on twitter asking “Why’s that? What would you do?” Followed by the response below.

Twitter is becoming the online battleground for the Hamlin vs. Logano war. It was after the Daytona 500 this year that Hamlin sent a message to Brad Keselowski apologizing for not being able to help him and blaming Keselowskis’s “genius teammate” for blocking runs.

As Randall says: “The Honey Badger is really pretty badass” and in the staid and often buttoned up world of Sprint Cup Series 2013, sadly Twitter dustups are becoming about as badass as there is.
