WATERFORD – Nichole Morgillo showed fans Sunday at the Waterford Speedbowl that not only is she speedy behind the wheel, but she also has a great finishing sprint out of the car.
Morgillo showed off how quickly she could run down the backstretch at the Waterford Speedbowl on foot Sunday when she went after Ted Christopher in his car during the 63-lap NASCAR Whelen All-American Series SK Modified feature.
A rather uneventful opening day SK Modified race turned quickly to fiery mayhem late in the 63-lap feature.
On a restart with nine laps left, then second place runner Rob Janovic Jr. got bumped high. It opened the door for Morgillo to move to second place. As she made the move to go to second coming off of turn two, Christopher tried to go under her.
The two made contact coming off the corner, sending Morgillo spinning down the backstretch, setting off a chain reaction that collected about 10 cars on the backstretch.
“He was pounding me on yellow flags,” Morgillo said. “I knew he was there, I knew it was coming, but what am I going to do, go for the win or brake job TC? What am I going to do. I want to win too. He completely hooked me.”
Said Christopher: “I was underneath her. Her spotter was yelling for her to go low, but I was already there. She just kept coming. I had a pretty good car.”
After the dust settled on the massive wreck, the cars still running, including Christopher’s, were stopped on the track in turn two. After Morgillo climbed from her car halfway down the backstretch she sprinted on foot down the track and went after Christopher, still in his car.
“I’ve never had anybody run down the track after me and when it happens it’s a girl,” Christopher said. “It’s like ‘Oh, great here comes my sister yelling at me.”
Said Morgillo: I said to him: ‘Who do you think you are? You’re the [expletive] king, do you know how to drive? What’s your problem, what’s your beef with me?’
Christopher, of Plainville, ended up fifth. Morgillo, of Yalesville, had to settle for a 12th place finish.
“This was the winning car today, the winning car,” Morgillo said standing near her damaged ride.

Nicole; If your going to expend all that energy running down the track to get to TC you had better first get his attention before trying to talk to him. Many have tried to “TALK” to Teddy over the years. Jump on his hood and kick off the air cleaner. Rip the valve stem out of his tire. Jump inside his car and pull the pin on his fire system. Some of the greatest minds in racing have tried to converse with TC. AND FAILED.
Christopher said. “It’s like ‘Oh, great here comes my sister yelling at me.” His sister probably would have slapped the crap out of him!

HES BEEN A BUTCHER FOR YEARS AND PUTTING HIM TO THE REAR OF THE FIELD FOLLOWING HIS ACTIONS DON’T WORK EITHER. HE NEEDS TO BE DQed AND SENT TO THE PITS FOR THE REST OF THE RACE ESPECIALLY AFTER CAUSING THAT BIG WRECK ON SUNDAY,…BUT IT SEEMS THAT EVERYONE IS AFRAID TO DO THAT WHERE EVER HE GOES. HE CAN DRIVE CLEAN IF HE WANTS TO, I’VE SEEN HIM DO IT.

Racing is give and take. Nicole tried taking that spot, and Teddy wouldn’t give it to her. Both are at fault, Nicole overdrove turn 1 and got into Janovic and had to lift to get back under control. While Teddy said I not going to wind up like Rob Janovic Jr. and I getting out of here! Either way both should have gave and took. The real suffers from the ten cars who pilied into the wreck.
On the restart, Nicole was in 3rd and TC was in 5th. Nicole was trying to take 2nd, TC 3rd. How many times have we seen his patented “I can run lower than you can” move from behind that destroys good racecars?
They would have both ended up with better finishes if he wasn’t so worried about being beaten by a girl.

TC got into the back of Nichole going into Turn 1, causing her to get into the 51. If anyone overdrove the corner, it was TC.
