It was the second track opening victory in 2013 for Rocco, of Wallingord. He also won the SK Modified feature at the Waterford Speedbowl opener last week.

Kerry Malone of Needham, Mass. was second and Woody Pitkat of Stafford third.

Pitkat went under Rocco for the lead on lap 26, but Rocco came back to regain the lead on lap 27. But on lap 28 Pitkat spun looking to go low on Rocco in turn two.

“We were going to have a good battle right down to the end there, it’s a shame he spun out,” Rocco said. “Whatever happened happened. Awesome racing. That’s what the fans come to see and that’s what this place needs is battles like that every week.”
