Pennink, of Huntingdon Valley, Pa., won the Bond Auto Spring Dash 100 Saturday at Monadnock Speedway in Winchester, N.H.

It was the first Valenti Modified Racing Series victory of the season for Pennink. Steve Masse won the season’s first event at the Waterford Speedbowl on April 7.

The Monadnock event was a celebration of the first decade of the Valenti Modified Racing Series. The series ran its first event at Monadnock in 2004. Pennink’s team owner, Gary Casella, competed in the first series event at Monadnock.

Pennink began the week by finishing second to Mike Stefanik in the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour season opener last Sunday at Thompson.

Pennink took the lead from Todd Patnode late in the race Saturday at Monadnock. Tommy Barrett Jr. of Millis, Mass. was second and Lou Mechalides of Tyngsboro, Mass. third.
