WATERFORD – The champion is now in the winner’s circle.

Reigning Waterford Speedbowl Late Model division champion Dillon Moltz rolled to his first victory of 2013 in the 30-lap Late Model feature Saturday at the Wateford Speedbowl.
Jeff Smith of Old Lyme was second and Keith Rocco of Wallingford third.
After the race Moltz and Rocco traded veiled barbs at each other during interviews on the frontstretch. The two had some contact during their feature last week and emotions seem to be boiling on both sides.
Asked about the comments and angry nature of late in the division, Moltz said: “I don’t really care. I don’t plan on going out to dinner with him any time soon. It’s pretty bad I guess. It’s kind of funny because when other people will do all their talking and stuff they can do it, but when someone tries to give it back they get all defensive. It must be a one-way street around here. It is what it is. I’m not out here to make friends, I’ve got enough friends as it is. I’m here to race.”
