Valenti Modified Racing Series To Celebrate First Decade At Foundation Event At Monadnock Speedway

Ten years ago the brainchild of Modified racer Jack Bateman came to life when the first season of the Valenti Modified Racing Series kicked off at Monadnock Speedway in Winchester, N.H.

That event set a motion the building of a series that this year will hold 19 events at nine different tracks across four New England states.

Saturday the Valenti Modified Racing Series returns to Monadnock Speedway for the Bond Auto Parts Spring Dash 100, the first of three events for the division at the track this season.

Five competitors who were part of that first event at Monadnock for the series are expected to be in competition in some capacity this weekend.

Dwight Jarvis of Ascutney, Vt,, Rob Goodenough of Swanzey, N.H. and Jim Boniface of Winchester, N.H. also drove in race number and are all still regulars with the division.

Gary Casella and Bateman drove in the first event. They will field cars at Monadnock. Casella has Rowan Pennink of Huntingdon Valley, Pa. racing for him and Todd Owen of Somers drives for Bateman.

Steve Masse of Bellingham, Mass. goes into the event as the series points leader following his victory in the season opening event at the Waterford Speedbowl on April 7.
