Virginia International Raceway Added To This Year’s K&N Pro Series East Schedule

The K&N Pro Series is three races into the 2013 season, but on Thursday came news that the schedule would have an addition.

NASCAR announced Thursday that the an event at Virginia International Raceway in Alton, Va. will be added to this year’s schedule on Aug. 24.

The event at the VIR road course replace on the schedule a race that had been scheduled for CNB Bank Raceway Park in Clearfield, Pa. on July 20.

The new event at VIR means a pair of road course visits for the K&N Pro Series East this year. The division is schedule to make it debut at Road Atlanta in Braselton, Ga. On Oct. 18.

“We are very pleased to welcome Virginia International Raceway to the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East calendar,” George Silbermann, NASCAR vice president of regional and touring series said in a release. “Adding a premier road course facility like VIR is a great addition to an already diverse schedule of events.”
