Waterford Notes: Keith Rocco Doubles Up At Blastoff With Late Model Victory

WATERFORD – One of the mission’s this year for Keith Rocco is completing the Waterford Speedbowl championship triple.

Rocco, of Wallingford, has championships at the track in the Street Stock division and the SK Modified division.

This year he goes looking to take down a title in the Late Model division.

That mission kicked off in perfect fashion Sunday as Rocco put his brand new Scott Fearn owned Late Model in victory lane by winning the 50-lap feature for the division at the Budweiser Blastoff at the Waterford Speedbowl.

“This Crazy Horse chassis is unbelievable,” Rocco said. “The track definitely freed up from yesterday and as free as the track was this thing still drove hard off the corner and had an awesome nose on it. I can’t say enough for everybody over at Crazy Horse Racing, they definitely put us together a stellar piece.”

Dillon Moltz finished of Waterford was a distant second and Bruce Thomas Jr. of Groton third.

It was the second victory of the day at Waterford for Rocco, who also won the 63-lap NASCAR Whelen All-American Series SK Modified feature.

Corey Hutchings of Salem held off the charges at the line of Chris Meyer of Franklin to win the 30-lap Street Stock feature. Josh Galvin of Franklin was third.

Garrett Denton of Hope Valley, R.I. won the 30-lap Mini Stock feature. Ken Cassidy Jr. of Lisbon was second and Wayne Burroughs Jr. of Oakdale third.
