Larry Barnett Continues To Sizzle In Limited Sportsman At Thompson Speedway

THOMPSON – Larry Barnett held off Scott Sundeen on a green-white-checkered finish to win the 20-lap Limited Sportsman feature Thursday at Thompson International Speedway.

It was the third victory in four events this year at Thompson for Barnett, of Moosup.

Sundeen, of Douglas, Mass., held on for second and Kevin Mason of West Warwick, R.I. was third.

Barnett looked on the way to a runaway victory before a wreck on the frontstretch crash brought out the caution on the last lap.

On the final green-white-checkered restart, Barnett was able to clear Sundeen off of turn two after the green and go unchallenged the rest of the way.

“That was an awesome race,” Barnett said. “It was interesting there, Scott was running really well and he gave me a real test there on the last couple laps. But the car was awesome.”
