Corey Hutchings And Glen Thomas Jr. Take Home The Big Cash On Little Guys 200 Night At Waterford

Last weekend Waterford Speedbowl Street Stock division regular Corey Hutchings had a gleam in his eye when he talked about participating in the inaugural Little Guys 200 night at the track.

Friday night he made the most of it.

Hutchings, of Salem, topped the field in the $1,000 to 50-lap Street Stock open feature Friday at the Waterford Speedbowl.

Hutchings went by Joe Kohler for the lead following a lap four restart and never trailed again. Kohler, of Cranstron, R.I. finished second in his Speedbowl debut. Brandon Plemons of Uncasville was third.

In the 50-lap open Mini Stock feature it was Northeast Mini Stock Tour regular Glen Thomas Jr. of Groton taken home the $1,000 first place purse.

Danny Field of Deep River was second and Ken Cassidy Jr. of Lisbon third.

Thomas used a diving move under Nick Anderson and Ray Christian III on lap 21 to go from third to lead and he never trailed again.

Giovanni Giarratana of Newington won the 50-lap Legends feature. Dana Dimatteo of Farmington was second and Brendon Bock of Franklin Square, N.Y. third.

Brad Voglesong of Middletown won the 50-lap X-Car feature. Steve Barrett of Preston was and Zach Thomas of New London third.
