Dwight Jarvis Leads The Way In Valenti Modified Racing Series Firecracker 100 at Monadnock Speedway

If it’s talk about Valenti Modified Racing Series action at Monadnock Speedway there’s a likely chance it’s talk about Dwight Jarvis

Saturday the Ascutney, Vt. driver was back in a place he’s become all-too familiar with over the years, victory lane at the Winchester, N.H. bullring.

Jarvis passed Chris Pasteryak for the lead with 11 laps remaining and held on to win the Valenti Modified Racing Series Firecracker 100 at Monadnock Speedway.

It was the seventh career Modified Racing Series victory for Jarvis, the 2006 series champion. Five of those seven wins have come at Monadnock.

Pasteryak, of Lisbon, who led a race-high 64 laps, held on to finish second. Reigning series champion Jon McKennedy of Chelmsford, Mass. was third.

Rowan Pennink of Huntingdon Valley, Pa., the winner in the division’s first visit to Monadnock this season on April 20, was fourth and took over the points lead.

Tommy Barrett Jr. and Lou Mechalides came into the event tied at the top of the standings with Pennink in third, two points behind them. Barrett recovered from a flat tire late in the event and rallied for a ninth place finish. Mechalides was 11th.
