New England Racing Fuel RaceDayCT Performer Of The Week Award: Keith Rocco

Each week during the 2013 racing season the New England Racing Fuel RaceDayCT Performer of the Week will be chosen from among drivers competing in events in the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series weekly division competitors at Stafford Motor Speedway, Thompson International Speedway and the Waterford Speedbowl.

Each week’s winner will receive a $20 certificate for race fuel from New England Racing Fuel. Drivers must have a Sunoco Race Fuel decal on their car to be eligible for the weekly award.

The trifecta? The opportunity was there, but a dark day on the schedule at the Waterford Speedbowl Saturday meant the chance for the triple was scrubbed away for Keith Rocco.

It proved a perfect weekend of racing nonetheless for Rocco of Wallingford.

On Thursday, Rocco kept his domination of Thompson International Speedway in 2013 rolling by winning his fourth SK Modified in six starts this season at the track.

And on Friday Rocco shook the monkey off his back at Stafford Motor Speedway, winning for the first time in an SK Modified there in 2013. It marked the second time this season that Rocco has picked up a pair of SK Modified victories in one racing weekend.

For his efforts, Rocco is the recipient of this week’s New England Racing Fuel RaceDayCT Performer of the Week Award.
