Ryan Preece Qualifies For NASCAR Nationwide Series Debut At NHMS; Kyle Busch On Pole

LOUDON, N.H. – Ryan Preece is in the big show.

Preece, of Berlin, will make his NASCAR Nationwide Series debut in today’s CNBC Prime’s The Profit 200 today at New Hampshire Motor Speedway.

Preece was 27th fastest of 43 cars attempting to make the 40-car field for today’s event.

Preece is driving for Sprint Cup Series team owner and former Whelen Modified Tour crew chief Tommy Baldwin Jr.

Sprint Cup Series regular Kyle Busch set a track record in winning the pole for the Nationwide Series event. Busch toured the 1.058-mile New Hampshire Motor Speedway oval in 28.873 seconds (131.916 mph), setting a new track record for the division.

Preece put up a fast lap of 29.874 seconds (127.495 mph) in qualifying.

Before the Nationwide Series event, Preece will go looking for his fourth consecutive victory in the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour Town Fair Tire 100 at New Hampshire Motor Speedway. Preece has won three of five Whelen Modified Tour events this year and is the points leader in the division.

The Whelen Modified Tour event is scheduled for 1 p.m. and will be broadcast on Speed. The Nationwide Series event is at 3:30 p.m. and will be broadcast on ABC.
