Budweiser Modified Nationals Bringing Out The Names At Thunder On The Sound At Waterford

WATERFORD – Twenty-six teams signed in for entry to the $5,000 to win, 150-lap Budweiser Modified Nationals SK Modified feature tonight at the Thunder on the Sound card at the Waterford Speedbowl.

Modified Nationals LogoIncluded in that group of names was one driver looking to complete a weekend sweep of SK Modified events in Connecticut.

Woody Pitkat won the SK Modified feature at Thompson International Speedway on Thursday and followed it up with a dramatic last lap pass for the win in the SK Modified feature Friday at Stafford Motor Speedway.

Pitkat, of Stafford, was in the house Saturday at Waterford looking to grab his second Budweiser Modified Nationals victory. Pitkat won the event in 2011 driving for car owner Jimmy Paige.

Pitkat wasn’t the only NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour regular joining the crowd for the SK Modified event Saturday at Waterford.

Ron Yuhas Jr. of Groton was also making a rare appearance at the Bowl. Yuhas was the 2009 SK Modified champion at Waterford.
