New England Racing Fuel RaceDayCT Performer Of The Week Award: Woody Pitkat

Each week during the 2013 racing season the New England Racing Fuel RaceDayCT Performer of the Week will be chosen from among drivers competing in events in the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series weekly division competitors at Stafford Motor Speedway, Thompson International Speedway and the Waterford Speedbowl.

Each week’s winner will receive a $20 certificate for race fuel from New England Racing Fuel. Drivers must have a Sunoco Race Fuel decal on their car to be eligible for the weekly award.

From the outset, it hardly looked like it was going to be a good racing weekend for Woody Pitkat.

On the first lap of his first race of the weekend, the Whelen All-American Series SK Modified feature at Thompson International Speedway Thursday, Pitkat got spun out and sent to the infield.

But it all got a lot better from there.

Pitkat rallied to win the SK Modified feature Thursday at Thompson. Later in the evening he scored a fifth place finish in the Whelen Modified Tour Bud 150 at Thompson.

Friday night at Stafford Pitkat picked up second place finishes in both the 40-lap SK Modified feature and the 60-lap Late Model feature.

For his efforts, Pitkat is the recipient of this week’s New England Racing Fuel RaceDayCT Performer of the Week Award.
