Thompson Notes: Cam McDermott Continues SK Light Modified Reign

THOMPSON – Cam McDermott drove away from the field away on the way to victory in the 20-lap SK Light Modified feature Thursday at Thompson International Speedway.

It was the fifth victory in seven events this year at Thompson for McDermott, of Scituate, R.I.

“This thing was unbelievable today, all day long,” McDermott said. “We’ve been struggling the last couple weeks with motor issues and we figured it out and the car was perfect.”

John Studley of Framingham, Mass. was second and Dylan Menditto of Brooklyn third.

In the 25-lap Late Model feature it was Glenn Boss scoring his third victory of the season. Chad LaBastie of Uxbridge, Mass. was second and Marc Curtis Jr. of Spencer, Mass third.

Bill McNeil of Preston passed Kevin Mason of West Warwick, R.I. with two laps remaining and went on to win the 20-lap Limited Sportsman feature.

It was the first victory of the season for McNeil. Mason held on for second and Scott Sundeen of Douglas, Mass. was third.

Joe Baxter of Pascoag, R.I. held off Chad Baxter of Pascoag, R.I. to win the 15-lap Mini Stock feature. Eric Bourgeois of East Haddam was third.
