Todd Patnode Wins In Valenti Modified Racing Series Action At Monadnock Speedway

One criticism that can’t be aimed at the Valenti Modified Racing Series is that the series doesn’t have a variety of drivers arriving weekly in victory lane.

VMRS Logo 2013New faces abound week after week of late.

And that was again the case Saturday when Todd Patnode won the division’s Victor Johnson Memorial 100 at Monadnock Speedway in Winchester, N.H.

It was the first series victory for Patnode, of Richmond, N.H., who was making his 39th career start since 2007.

Patnode became the eighth different winner in the last eight series events and the ninth winner in the last 10 races.

Jon McKennedy of Chelmsford, Mass. was second and Dwight Jarvis of Ascutney, Vt. third.

It was the third of three events for the series this year at Monadnock. Series points leader Rowan Pennink won on April 20 at the track and Jarvis was the victor in the division’s event on July 6 at Monadnock.

Pennink, of Huntingdon Valley, Pa., was fifth and extended what was already a 50-point plus lead with five events remaining this year.
