Keith Rocco’s chase of history on multiple fronts continues Saturday night at the Waterford Speedbowl.
Last weekend Rocco clinched his first Late Model championship at the track, Rocco joined Allen Coates as the only drivers in track history to win championships in three divisions at the track. He also has SK Modified division and Street Stock titles. Coates has Late Model, Street Stock and Truck division titles.
Saturday Rocco could clinch his third SK Modified division championship in the last four seasons. Rocco takes a 57-point lead in the standings over his father-in-law Todd Ceravolo into the evening’s event. If h can end the night with a 55-point lead or better the championship in the division is his.
Rocco would be the first driver in the 63-year history of the Speedbowl to win championships in two separate divisions in the same season.
Rocco is also chasing history in the category of season total for victories. With two SK Modified and two Late Model features remaining, Rocco has 20 wins this season overall at the track. Don Collins set the track’s record for wins in a season with 23 in 1960.
