The winner equaled the champion Friday in the K&N Pro Series East season finale at Road Atlanta in Braselton, Ga.
Dylan Kwasniewski won the inaugural Road Atlanta 115 and clinched his first series title in the process.
Kwasniewski, who became the youngest K&N Pro Series West champion in 2012, becomes the first driver to win champions in both divisions.
The 18-year old Kwasniewski started on the pole and led every lap on the 2.54-mile Road Atlanta circuit for his sixth victory of the season.
Kwasniewski came into the event holding a five-point lead over Brett Moffitt in the chase for the series title, but the championship dramatics were short lived. Moffitt retired from the race while running second on lap six with transmission problems and finished 24th. Kwasniewski finishd the year with a 33-point advantage over Moffitt.
Kwasniewski became the first driver since Mike Stefanik to win championships in two different divisions in consecutive years. Stefanik won both championships in the K&N Pro Series East and Whelen Modified Tour in both 1997 and 1998.
Daniel Suarez was second in Friday’s race and Bryan Ortiz third.
