Valenti Modified Racing Series regular Max Zachem will attempt to make his NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour debut in the World Series 150 on Oct. 20 at Thompson Speedway.
The 20-year old driver from Preston has spent the last four seasons competing regular on the Valenti Modified Racing Series.
Zachem will be behind the wheel of a Todd Szegedy backup car for owner team owner Mike Smeriglio. Zachem serves as a crew member regularly for Szegedy at Modified Tour events.
Zachem made the announcement that he will get the opportunity to drive for Smeriglio through a posting Tuesday evening on Facebook. The World Series 150 is the 14th and final event of the 2013 Whelen Modified Tour season.
Zachem has made 60 career Valenti Modified Racing Series starts dating back to the 2010 season.
