A few years ago Seymour driver Nick Anglace began the mission of searching out funding to move up the NASCAR ladder in a big way.
And while his hopes of landing a deal to race in the NASCAR Xfinity Series or Craftsman Truck Series never materialized, his efforts in throwing himself into learning the intricacies of searching out big time sponsorship did pay off for him at the short track level.
Anglace will bring a nationally known brand to the track this year at Stafford Speedway, and in the process he’ll be carrying some Husky Pride to the historic half-mile.
Anglace will have some very familiar branding on his SK Light Modified and Open Modified cars in 2025 by carrying sponsorship from UConn athletics to the track.
It’s a unique situation for a local driver in today’s racing world to carry nationally known branding at the short track level.
“To me it’s a story of just grinding for the last few years,” Anglace said. “… This is just a product of years of emails and refining everything and knowing what brands want. It’s not easy at all when you start to understand the marketing aspect of things.”
In addition to running full-time in the SK Light Modified division at Stafford and in the Stafford Open Modified events, Anglace is also examining the possibility of running some selected Monaco Modified Tri-Track Series and NASCAR Modified Tour events in 2025.
We got the chance to talk Nick and about how the program all came together and how much pride he takes in carrying a nationally known brand on his car for the 2025 season.
