STAFFORD – Paul Varrichio Jr. came into the 2024 season at Stafford Speedway looking for his first career victory in the Late Model division after more than a decade trying.
He got that first victory in his 154th start in the division on May 31, 2024. He added a second victory later in the season.
In 2025 it’s not Varrichio chasing an elusive win but rather the rest of the field trying to chase him out of victory lane.
Varricchio topped the 30-lap Late Model feature Friday at Stafford Speedway.
Varricchio also won the season opening event at Stafford on April 27.
“The car is great,” Varricchio said. “My guys know what they’ve got to do to get this thing to the front.”
Andrew Durand of Chicopee, Mass. was second and Alexandra Fearn of East Longmeadow was third.
Varricchio passed Durand for the lead off of turn two on lap 24 and went unchallenged at the front the rest of the way.
