Parity had been the overriding theme of competition on the NASCAR Modified Tour over the first five events of the season in 2025.

And that theme continued on Sunday at White Mountain Motorsports Park in North Woodstock, N.H.

Kyle Bonsignore dominated on the way to victory in the NASCAR Modified Thunder In The Mountains 200 at White Mountain Motorsports Park on Sunday.

Bonsignore, of Bay Shore, N.Y., became the sixth different winner in six NASCAR Modified Tour events in 2025.

“The guys did a great job out there,” said Bonsignore, who led 162 of 200 laps. “We had a great car in practice. Qualified good. … They needed this bad.”

Bonsignore joined Patrick Emerling (New Smyrna), Ron Silk (Thompson), Craig Lutz (North Wilkesboro), Matt Hirschman (Seekonk) and Justin Bonsignore (Riverhead) on the winner’s list this season.

It was the third career NASCAR Modified Tour victory for Kyle Bonsignore and his first since winning at Langley Speedway in Hampton, Va. on Aug. 26, 2023.

“Before Riverhead [on June 15, announcer Andy Austin] told me it was 22 months since my last win,” Kyle Bonsignore said. “And I guess we just snuck it in there because it’s still June. Hopefully it’s something like 22 days until the next one. We’ll take this momentum and we’ll go on.”

Stephen Kopcik of Newtown matched his career best finish with second place and Jake Johnson of Rehoboth, Mass. was third in the 19-car field.

Johnson, who was fastest in qualifying and pulled the pole position after the redraw, controlled at the front in the opening laps with Kyle Bonsignore moving past Ron Silk at the start for second.

Silk got stuck in the outside lane at the start and got shuffled from second to 11th over the first 15 laps.

Luke Baldwin, who had to drop to the rear of the field before the event due to an issue after qualifying, was up to 12th place by lap 20.

Kyle Bonsignore went by Johnson for the lead on lap 31 and was able to find some breathing room out front.

With the leaders encountering lapped traffic on lap 50, Johnson was able to get back to the bumper of Kyle Bonsignore and challenge for the lead. After clearing the traffic, Kyle Bonsignore was once again able to find a half second gap on Johnson by lap 65. With Kyle Bonsignore getting away at the front, Patrick Emerling moved past Johnson for second place.

Caution flew for the first time on lap 93 when contact from Baldwin sent 11th place Silk spinning.

Under caution all the leaders pitted under a controlled pit stop scenario.

Kyle Bonsignore continued to control out front on the restart. Johnson was able to overtake Emerling to move to second. From lap 107 to lap 116 Johnson stalked all over the bumper of Kyle Bonsignore.

At lap 150 little had changed at the front with Kyle Bonsignore holding Johnson at bay and Emerling stalking in third.

The second caution of the race flew on lap 175 for an issue involving Austin Beers and Anthony Nocella.

Under caution all the leaders headed to pit road. While still under caution the third place car of Emerling stopped on the track. Trevor Catalano stayed on track and assumed the lead in front of Bonsignore with Johnson in third.

On the lap 186 restart Catalano was able to control a sliding car to hang on to the lead briefly. Behind the leaders Kopcik moved to third.

On lap 189 Kyle Bonsignore moved past Catalano to the lead with Kopcik following to second. Kopcik haunted Bonsignore over the final three laps, but couldn’t find a lane to the front.

Justin Bonsignore finished 10th to hang on to the lead at the top of the standings by one point over Beers. Craig Lutz is third in the standings, eight points off the lead.
