THOMPSON – Jake Johnson’s domination of the Late Model division in 2025 at Thompson Speedway continued Wednesday.

Johnson, of Rehoboth, Mass., took control early and never let go on the way to victory in the 25-lap Late Model feature.

It was the second consecutive victory at Thompson for Johnson, who won June 18 at the track. Johnson has a pair of second place finishes in the two other features for the division this year at Thompson.

“We definitely have a really great car,” Johnson said. “I’ve got to thank everyone at Hartwell Motorsports. … The support on this car means the world to me.”

Brian Tagg of Oxford, Mass. was second and Nick Lascuoula of Brockton, Mass. was third.

Nickolas Hovey of Chaplin scored his third win in four starts this year at Thompson in the 20-lap SK Light Modified feature.

Corey Caddick of Richmond, R.I. was second and Sami Anderson of Wolcott third. Caddick was disqualified in post race tech for a carburetor infraction, moving Anderson to second place and John O’Sullivan of Salem to third place.

Hovey went by Sami Anderson for the lead on lap five. Caddick followed to second two laps later.

On lap 17 Caddick latched on to Hovey’s bumper. On lap 18 Caddick made a diving move under Hovey through turns one and two. The pair went side-by-side down the backstretch and through turns three and four before Hovey cleared Caddick off of turn four.

George Baldwin of Lowell, Mass. topped the 20-lap Street Stock feature. Larry Barnett of Moosup was second and Nick Anderson of Westminster, Mass. third.

Dave Trudeau of Mansfield won the 15-lap Mini Stock feature. Bill Porter of Canterbury was second and Ryan Pomposelli of Smithfield, R.I. third.
