NASCAR Modified Tour Returning To New Hampshire Motor Speedway In 2026

On Aug. 20 New Hampshire Motor Speedway management announced that the NASCAR Cup Series and NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series would return to the track for the 2026 season for an Aug. 22-23 weekend in Loudon.

Not included in that formal announcement from NHMS was anything regarding the return of the NASCAR Modified Tour to the track for 2026.

Worry not though Modified fans, the series will be back in Loudon next year.

NHMS executive vice president and general manager David McGrath confirmed to RaceDayCT on Wednesday that the NASCAR Modified Tour will be a part of the NASCAR Cup Series weekend at the track in 2026.

“I’ll give you the scoop right now, [the NASCAR Modified Tour] absolutely is going to be part of the 2026 NASCAR weekend,” McGrath told RaceDayCT. “For as long as I’ve been the general manager of New Hampshire Motor Speedway the Whelen Modified Tour has been an important part of our weekend and I see no reason that’s going to change.”

The NASCAR Modified Tour returns to New Hampshire Motor Speedway on Sept. 20 for the running of the Mohegan Sun 100 in Loudon. That event is scheduled for a 9:15 am start.

McGrath indicated with the Cup Series weekend moving to August for 2026 and getting back to an increased daylight window, there’s a chance the series could return to a more traditional start time for next year.

“What I can’t tell you is exactly what the schedule will be in play,” McGrath said. “But the Modifieds will be a very big part of our weekend, as they always are. We love those guys and we know they put on just a whale of a show for our race fans.”
