STAFFORD – It took Limited Late Model rookie Travis Hydar 11 starts to score his first career win in the division last week at Stafford.

On Friday, in his 12th career start in the division, Hydar officially began his first winning streak in a Limited Late Model.

Hydar went by Jeremy Lavoie for the lead on lap 18 and won the 20-lap Limited Late feature Friday at Stafford.

Hydar, of Woodbury, moved up to the Limited Late Model division full-time this year after scoring 31 Street Stock victories from 2018 to 2024.

“I was really hoping to get a few wins this season and doing two back-to-back is quite the feat,” said Hydar, who is the all-time winningest Street Stock driver at the track. “This field is really close. It’s hard to make passes and come from deep. … My confidence has been raised a little bit after the past few weeks. Doing really good. We’ve been running really consistent since the beginning of the year so we knew it was only a matter of time until we picked off a win. I guess we’ll just let the momentum keep rolling.”

Hydar, the 2022 Street Stock champion at Stafford, leads the Limited Late Model division standings by 32 points over Lavoie.

Lavoie, of Windsor Locks, ended up second.

“[Gary Patnode] was dumping fluid and I found it going into turn one and almost lost it and that’s how Travis was able to get around,” Lavoie said. “I wanted to put up a good fight for him to pass me for the lead if he was going to do it but I ended up slipping up in [turn] one, I hit the fluid and almost lost it. I was able to hang on to it for second place.”

Norm Root III of Old Saybrook was third.

Darrel Keane of Enfield topped the 30-lap Late Model feature. Paul Varricchio Jr. of Berlin was second and Wayne Coury Jr. of Milford third.

Bob Charland of Stafford won the 20-lap SK Light Modified feature. Nick Anglace of Seymour was second and Matt Brewer of Norwich third.
