STAFFORD – Wayne Coury Jr. held on through a rash of late cautions to win the 30-lap Late Model feature Friday at Stafford.

It was the second victory of the season for the Milford driver.

“We go 26 green [flag] laps and then about five restarts, so that was a fun one,” Coury said. “We had a great car tonight. It was easy to drive. I’ve got a great crew.”

Alexandra Fearn of East Longmedow, Mass. was second and Michael Wray of Mooresville, N.C. third.

“It was a fun race,” Fearn said. “There was a lot of really good cars here today. So it definitely took a lot of work. I know [Coury] was hungry, he’s had a tough couple of weeks so it’s nice to see him win.”

On lap 13 Coury found the lane under Tom Fearn into turn three to move into the lead.

With Coury checked out from the field, Tom Fearn in second and Paul Varricchio Jr. in third, caution flew on lap 27 for the spinning car of Bobby Stirk in turn four.

On the first attempt at a restart, Fearn slowed in the outside lane allowing Varricchio to move to second, but the restart was called back due to a wreck at the back of the field.

On the second attempt at the lap 27 restart, Varricchio got the jump to second place with Alexandra Fearn moving into third.

Caution came back out on lap 29 for the spinning car of Tom Butler on the backstretch.

On the final restart, Alexandra Fearn was able to power by Varricchio to take over second place, with Wray following to third.

Brandon Warren won the 20-lap Street Stock feature.

It was the second career victory for the Chicopee, Mass. driver.

Tyler Trott of East Hartford was second and Aaron Plemons of Uncasville third.

Rookie Travis Hydar passed Rich Hammann for the lead on lap 12 and led the rest of the way to win the 20-lap Limited Late Model feature.

It was the first career victory in the division for the Woodbury driver.

Kevin Cormier of Springfield, Vt. was second and Hammann, of Tolland, third.
