WATERFORD – Paul French of Andover got his second victory of the season in the 25-lap SK Light Modified feature Saturday at the Waterford Speedbowl.

Rick Williams of Haddam was second and Larry Goss of North Windham third.

French’s last victory came on May 10.

“These guys at Horsepower Hill Racing, they’re absolutely unbelievable,” French said. “These guys just refuse to lose. I know our results haven’t really been there.”

It made for the perfect weekend for French, who was the crew chief for Joey Ferrigno’s SK Light Modified feature win Friday at Stafford Motor Speedway.

“Doing the weekend double is cool,” said French, who led every lap. “We’ve got some really good talent in our stable.”

Mike Christopher Jr. won the 25-lap Legends feature.

It was the 15th victory of the season at Waterford for Christopher, of Wolcott.

“It’s insane,” Christopher said. “I can’t believe we’ve got 15 wins from no wins last year. It’s just a good car from Tim Ladyga, I’ve got to thank him for the car. And my dad for all the hours he puts into it setting it up. I feel like a broken record this year.”

Dana Dimatteo of Farmington was second and George Whitney of Westbrook third.

Christopher used the outside lane to go by Dimatteo for the lead with 17 laps remaining.

“I just decided to go out there,” Christopher said. “The car hooked up there on Wednesday night so I tried it again and it worked.”

Ken Cassidy Jr. of Lisbon won the 25-lap Mini Stock feature. Garrett Denton of Hope Valley, R.I. was second and Joey Liskiewicz of Preston was third.
