In March Chris Pasterak loaded up the family Modified ride and headed to Hickory Motor Speedway in Hickory, N.C. for a little “spring training.”

The Lisbon driver said in March that part of the decision to compete in a KOMA Unwind Southern Modified Race Tour event at Hickory was to get a chance to race at the historic venue, but a big part of the decision was to prepare for the northern season.

And part of that preparation had to do with the fact that Hickory was a track that reminded Pasteryak a lot of Lee USA Speedway in Lee, N.H.

Pasteryak went on to finish second in the KOMA Unwind Series event at Hickory and it seems to be showing that what he got out of the southern swing keeps paying off because he is proving to be a master of Lee in 2015.

On May 17 Pasteryak won a 100-lap Tour Type Modified open show at Lee USA Speedway. Friday he continued the heated streak rolling at the track.

Pasteryak finished third and first in twin 50-lap races to take the overall victory in Friday’s Valenti Modified Racing Series event at the Lee USA Speedway.

It was the first Valenti Modified Racing Series win of 2015 for the two-time series champion.

Steve Masse of Bellingham, Mass. was second and John McKennedy of Chelmsford, Mass. third.
