On Sunday NASCAR hosted its first street course race for the Cup Series in Chicago. Weather issues plagued the event all weekend, but in the end the shortened Cup Series event was conclued with New Zealand native Shane Van Gisbergen winning in his first series start. Got a lot more eyes on Nascar and auto racing in general. This is never a bad thing in my opinion. What’s good for the mainstream should trickle down and affect the grassroots in a positive way.
