It’s not just a reflection on press coverage of racing, but a reflection of journalism itself. When a newspaper can buy another newspaper out and then mostly just cover things on the other side of the river, or basically just repeat what has already been reported on TV or another publication or online, it’s a sad state of affairs for journalism in general.
I miss hanging out up there after spotting time was over. Nothing like a cold beer and taking about the night with the writers.
