STAFFORD – Aaron Plemons has been a force in 2025 in the Street Stock division at Stafford Speedway.
And Friday night Plemons had a message that other competitors in the division probably didn’t want to hear.
Plemons held off Travis Downey on green-white-checkered finish to win the 20-lap Street Stock feature.
It was the second consecutive win for the Uncasville driver and his fourth win in nine starts this season.
And Plemons figures his great car is going to be even greater when he hits the track next week at Stafford.
“We had a great car,” Plemons said. “I think we were just … we had four week old tires on. With this new tire strategy we’re trying to stretch it an extra week of tires. My car was perfect. It’s going to be ten times better with [new tires] next week.”
Downey, of Barkhamstead, was second and rookie Kolton Gambacorta of Ellington made his first podium appearance with a third place finish.
Plemons went by Gambacorta for the lead on lap 17 and then held on at the front through multiple late restarts.
Jason Lafayette of Somers held off Travis Hydar over the closing laps to win the caution-marred 30-lap Limited Late Model feature. Hydar, of Woodbury, was second and Rich Hammann of Tolland third.
