The driver with the most wins on the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour in 2025 was never a factor in the championship battle.
And that’s because that driver did not race full-time with the series.
Ron Silk’s four Whelen Modified Tour victories in 2025 was two better than any other driver on the series, and Silk only started 11 of the division’s 16 events.
Now the Norwalk driver is ready to go chasing down a third Whelen Modified Tour championship in 2026.
Earlier this week, management at Haydt-Yannone Racing announced the team would return to full-time competition with the series in 2026. Silk won the 2023 series title driving for HYR and was edged by Justin Bonsignore for the series title in 2024 after a fiery season long battle at the top of the standings.
We talked with Silk this week about the decision to go back to the Whelen Modified Tour full-time, his opinions on the big offseason changes for the series and his other plans for 2026 with the Monaco Modified Tri-Track Series and other events.
