Daily Grind: Kelsey Rottino Moving Up, Bill McNeil Moving In At Stafford; Tri-Track Mod Series Coming In 2014

It will be a new look for MJC Motorsports and driver Kelsey Rottino in 2014 at Stafford Motor Speedway.

Daily Grind 300 BoxRottino is moving from an MJC Motorsports DARE Stock division ride to an MJC Motorsports Limited Late Model ride for the upcoming season at Stafford.

Rottino, of Willimantic, had nine top-five’s and 13 top-10’s in 18 DARE Stock division starts in 2013 on the way to a sixth place finish in the standings.

MJC Motorsports team owner Michael Cote said moving Rottino up opened up a spot in his organization to move McNeil, of Preston, in. McNeil will take over the team’s DARE Stock ride previously piloted by Rottino.

“Kelsey Rottino was going to drive the MJC Motorsports DARE Stock again this year and contend for the championship,” Cote said. “We ended up acquiring a Limited Late Model and decided to go that route. I saw that Bill McNeil was looking for a Stafford ride and I have been trying to Bill Stafford for a few years now.”

Cote said the organization is currently seeking sponsorship for both the Limited Late Model and DARE Stock cars.

According to Schafer, all three events will feature purses totaling more than $35,000 with a minium of $5,000 to win for each event and $1,000 to start. Check the Tri-Track Open Modified Series page for more information.

  1. I must be a chef says

Has anyone close to McNeil told him that outspending everyone doesn’t make you a racecar driver??? You cant buy driving ability. Sorry man. With the money this guy spends he should be winning 3/4 of the races he runs…….I can buy dinner so that must make me a chef.
