There was nothing mini about the announcement from the Northeast Mini Stock Tour on Saturday.
Officials from the series announced Saturday that the division of Mini Stock cars will make its debut on the biggest oval in New England in 2014.
The Northeast Mini Stock Tour will run a 25-lap feature on the 1.058-mile New Hampshire Motor Speedway oval on Aug. 3 as part of the 24th Vintage Racing Celebration Oval Days at the facility.
The Northeast Mini Stock Tour, readying for its sixth season of competition, has previously competed on the 1.6 mile New Hampshire Motor Speedway road course and the quarter-mile infield mini track in Loudon.
“We are proud to have had such a great series of events to announce this off season including new tracks, revolutionary events, and some great new marketing partners,” series founer and operator Bob Guptill said in a release.
Series officials have not yet finalized all race and qualifying procedures for the new event at NHMS.
