— Stafford Motor Speedway officials announced Friday that R.A.D. Automachine will sponsor the Rookie of the Year awards in the Limited Late Model and DARE Stock divisions in 2014.

R.A.D. sponsored a $400 award to the Rookie of the Year in the DARE Stock division last year. In 2014 the company will offer a $1,000 award to the Limited Late Model Rookie Of The Year and a $500 award to the DARE Stock Rookie of the Year.

“The Limited Late Model and DARE Stock divisions are great racing divisions and those guys race just as hard as the guys and girls in the SK Modifieds and Late Models do,” Don Wood, owner of R.A.D. Automachine said in a release. “We do a lot of business with drivers from the Ltd. Late Model and DARE Stocks with the crate engines so we definitely like being able to put up a nice bonus for the crate engine divisions. This is something nice for the rookie drivers to shoot for this season and maybe this bonus will help entice some rookie drivers to sign up for either of those two divisions and go race for some bonus money.”

— Stafford Speedway’s Scott Running will preview the 2014 season at the track as a guest on Victory Lane Radio on Monday evening at 7 p.m. Check the Victory Lane Radio website for more details.
