Saturday at Southern National Motorsports Park in Kenly, N.C. J.R. Bertuccio proved that adage to be true.

Bertuccio held off the charges of four-time series champion George Brunnhoelzl III on a green-white-checkered finish to win the Southern National 150.

It was the first career victory in the series for the 32-year old from Centereach, N.Y., who was making his 28th career start in the division.

Kyle Ebersole, of Hummelston, Pa., got by Brunnhoelzl, of West Babylon, N.Y., for second coming to the checkered flag.
