WATERFORD – The Rocco name is one familiar to plenty of fans at the Waterford Speedbowl.

Keith Rocco of Wallingford has been a dominant force in the SK Modified division at the track for the last few years and last year he won championships in both the SK Modified and Late Model divisions at the shoreline oval.

Saturday at the Waterford Speedbowl it was a twin bill of Rocco’s grabbing checkered flags.

Keith’s twin brother Jeff, of Wallingford, was victorious in the first of three Modified Racing Series qualifying events Saturday at Waterford in preparation for Sunday’s Budweiser Blastoff 100 for the division.

Not to be outdone, it was Keith Rocco scoring victory in the second heat race for the Modified Racing Series.

Ted Christopher of Plainville won the third qualifying event. Jeff Pearl of Salem was second in the final qualifier and Mike Holdridge of Madison third.

Todd Annarummo of Swansea, Mass. chased Jeff Rocco to the line in the first heat race in second place. Max Zachem of Preston was third.

In the second qualifier, reigning series champion Rowan Pennink of Huntingdon Valley, Pa. was second and series newcomer Todd Szegedy of Ridgefield was third.
