Stafford Notes: Tyler Hines Tops In SK Light Modifieds; Duane Provost Wins Limited Late Models

SMS-LOGO-HOME-PAGE-2012STAFFORD – It was three laps fewer than expected, but it was a result Tyler Hines would take all the same.

Hines, of North Haven, won the SK Light Modified feature Saturday as part of the NAPA Auto Parts Spring Sizzler at Stafford.

The race was cut from 20 to 17 laps because of rain.

“This is the way to start off the season,” Hines said. “We put it on our list to do, win the Spring Sizzler, now we can cross it off.”

Geoffrey Boisjolie of East Hampton, Mass. was second and Dylan Menditto of Brooklyn third.

Duane Provost of Springfield, Mass. won the 20-lap Limited Late Model feature. David Arute of Tolland was second and Glenn Bartkowski of Manchester third.

Ryan Fearn of East Longmeadow, Mass. won the 15-lap DARE Stock feature. David Comeau of Palmer, Mass. was second and Bill McNeil third.

Rains came before the start of the 25-lap Northeast Mini Stock Tour feature. The race will be run as part of the Sunday schedule at Stafford.
