WATERFORD – Extra distance was no worry Saturday night at the Waterford Speedbowl for SK Light Modified driver Corey Barry.

Barry, of Plainfield, cruised to victory in the 28-lap RH2Way Going The Extra Mile SK Light Modified feature Saturday at the Waterford Speedbowl.

It was the second victory of the season at Waterford for Barry.

Chris Ignazio of Colchester was second and Paul Buzell of Trumbull third.

Barry went by Ignazio for the lead on a lap 22 restart and never trailed again.

“I got really lucky,” Barry said. “Chris came out of nowhere. A major credit to that whole crew, they worked hard, they had a really fast car today. He did everything he could to hold me off. But when we’re side-by-side it’s basically whoever gets to turn one first. … There was no way I was getting by him if that thing went green to checkered.”
