The Man of the Mini’s at the Waterford Speedbowl was the man the people deemed the best of the week locally.
Garrett Denton of Hope Valley, R.I. was victorious in Saturday’s 25-lap Mini Stock feature on Saturday at Waterford and that win helped him to claim the New England Racing Fuel Support Performer of the Week honors.
Denton grabbed the award after a heated race in voting between himself and Nick Salva, who won his first career SK Light Modified feature Friday at Stafford Motor Speedway.
Denton got 192 of the 462 votes placed. Salva earned 138 votes.
Each week during the 2014 racing season the New England Racing Fuel RaceDayCT Support Performer of the Week will be chosen from among drivers competing in events in one of the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series weekly support divisions (excludes SK Modified divisions) at Stafford Motor Speedway, Thompson Speedway and the Waterford Speedbowl.
Denton will receive a $20 certificate for race fuel from New England Racing Fuel. The final voting results are listed below.
