Glenn Griswold Back In SK Light Mod Victory Lane At Stafford Speedway

Stafford Speedway SunsetSTAFFORD – Call it scratching the seven-year itch.

Glen Griswold held off all challengers to win the 20-lap SK Light Modified feature Friday at Stafford Motor Speedway.

It was the second career SK Modified victory at Stafford for Griswold, of Vernon.

He won his first event at the track on June 15, 2007.

D.J. Burnham of East Hartford was second and Jeremy Sorel of Westfield, Mass

Griswold led every lap, but it was a victory that didn’t come without some bruising action with his Warhorse Racing team.

Dylan Menditto stalked Griswold in second for much of the race, but on lap 17 Menditto ended up wrecked after trying to make a move to get under Griswold.

Over the track public address system Menditto said he made a move to get under Griswold, but Griswold chopped him down, setting off a chain reaction that also collected Jay Goff running in third.

“I don’t know what happened,” Griswold said. “I felt something hit me in the back end and when I looked back I saw sparks flying and everything and then he was yelling and screaming at me. So I don’t know if I chopped him down or he was on the inside, I never saw him. … I gave him the whole outside of the racetrack. I don’t know what some of these guys expect you to do. I was holding my lane as best I could.”

  1. As I saw it menditto should be upset with salva, and pretty sure it’s called racing not passing. If you want to pass people with ease get on the highway.
