Josh Galvin Scores Street Stock Victory At Waterford Speedbowl

New Speedbowl LogoWATERFORD – Track announcers at the Waterford Speedbowl have branded Street Stock division competitor Josh Galvin with the moniker ‘The Comeback Kid.”

Saturday, he lived up to the nickname.

Galvin came back from a disqualification in the last event at Waterford to win Saturday’s 44-lap Street Stock feature.

The race was stopped six laps short of its scheduled 50-lap distance because of rain. Ryan Waterman of Danielson was second and Joe Arena of Bristol third.

After winning the 25-lap Street Stock feature at Waterford on April 19, Galvin was disqualified from the victory for issues with his shocks.

“We had something to prove,” Galvin said. “We had a lot of stuff to fix on the car and we fixed it all up.”

Galvin went by Al Stone III for the lead on lap 23 and never trailed again. Asked if he had anything for Galvin near the end, Waterman laughed.

“Oh hell no,” Waterman said. “He’s in a different area code from where I am.”
