WATERFORD – On April 19 Mike Christopher Jr. won his first career Legends feature at the Waterford Speedbowl.

Now it seems he’s not going to let anybody back in victory lane in the division at the shoreline oval.

Christopher, of Wolcott, cruised easily to victory in the 25-lap Legends feature Saturday at the Waterford Speedbowl.

Timothy Depizzol of North Franklin was second and Keith Rocco of Wallingford third.

It was the second consecutive Saturday night victory at Waterford for Christopher and his fourth consecutive Legends division overall at the track. Since winning his first on April 19, Christopher had won the last two Wednesday night events at the track.

“If you had told me that I would win four straight at the beginning of the year or last year I would have told you ‘No way.’” Christopher said.

Christopher is the son of former Modified racer Mike Christopher and the nephew of Modified competitor Ted Christopher.

Christopher was involved in a first race wreck that sent him to the pits with major left side damage. His team got the car back to running order and sent him back on track. From there Christopher made easy work rolling back to the front.

“It looked like a heat race out there with 10 cars, but it’s still hard coming from the back,” Christopher said. “I’ve just to thank my dad so much for all he does on the car.”
