2014 VMRS LogoThe Seekonk Grand Prix in Seekonk, Mass. is the place to be for pre-race Valenti Modified Racing Series festivities on June 7.

The Valenti Modified Racing Series is in action that evening down the street at Seekonk Speedway.

Seekonk Grand Prix owner and NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour team owner Wayne Darling announced that the Grand Prix will be open from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on June 7 with all money taken in going to support the family of Valenti Modified Racing Series regular Les Hinckley of Windsor Locks.

The Hinckley family has been through a trying past few months. Eight-year old Allen Hinckley, the son of Les and his wife Tracy, was diagnosed recently with a congenital arachnoid cyst with a subdural hematoma in his brain.

Allen Hinckley went through two major surgeries in March and is now working his way through an extended recovery program.

The event at Sonny’s Place will take place from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. in Allen Hinckley’s honor and help defray the cost of medical expenses. Tickets are $25.
