Stafford Speedway Notes: Jeff Jolly, Nicholas Salva And Andrew Hayes Get Victories

SMS-LOGO-HOME-PAGE-2012STAFFORD – Three-wide worked just fine for Jeff Jolly Friday at Stafford Motor Speedway.

Jolly drove away from the field over the closing laps to win the 15-lap DARE Stock feature Friday at Stafford.

It was the first victory of the season for the Wallingford driver.

Frank L’Etoile Jr. of Wethersfield was second and Ryan Fearn of East Longmeadow third.

With Andy Marchese and Johnny Walker battling for the lead, on lap seven, Jolly dove to the low lane to make a three-wide move for the lead. Jolly came out of turn four leading the field and was never challenged the rest of the way.

“The car was actually really tight in the beginning of the race,” Jolly said. “It came around at the end. We didn’t have the fastest car when I made the move for the lead so I kind of had to go when it came time to go because I didn’t know if we were going to have another chance.”

In the 20-lap SK Light Modified feature it was Nicholas Salva of Prospect grabbing his first career victory.

Joey Ferrigno of East Hartford was second and Jeremy Sorel of Westfield, Mass. third.

Andrew Hayes held off David Arute of Tolland on a green-white-checkered finish to win the 20-lap Limited Late Model feature. Norm Sears of Andover was third.
