Waterford Notes: Josh Galvin Wins Third Consecutive Street Stock Feature

New Speedbowl LogoWATERFORD – The Street Stock division at the Waterford Speedbowl has become the property of Josh Galvin.

Galvin held on through three late restarts to win the 25-lap Street Stock feature Saturday at the Waterford Speedbowl.

It was the third consecutive victory for Galvin, of North Franklin.

Ryan Waterman of Danielson was second and Chris Meyer of Norwich third.

Galvin’s three consecutive victories followed up a disqualification from a victory for shock issues on April 19. Saturday he completed the full bounce back from the disqualification by moving into the points lead in the division.

“I thought it was over,” Galvin said. “It was an oversight by us. It really wasn’t a performance deal, kind of a technicality. It kind of took a little wind out of our sails, well me personally it took the wind out of my sails, but the rest of the team rallied and picked me up. We just kept on digging.”

Galvin went by Travis Jurcik for the lead with 11 laps remaining and never was seriously challenged at the front again.

“We don’t stop working in the garage,” Galvin said. “My crew came together this week and we were in the shop until midnight every night this week and we just work so hard. It’s almost a shame if we don’t win with how much work we put in.”

In the 25-lap Mini Stock feature, it was Ray Christian III of Groton holding off Lisbon’s Ken Cassidy Jr. Garrett Denton of Hope Valley, R.I. was third.
